Calendar and Event List

Calendars and Event lists allow upcoming events to be easily added to a flexible page.

FieldDescription
Number of rows Limit the number of events displayed (Event list only).
Events Field into which manually selected events are added.
Include feed Unchecked (default) or checked.  Automatically includes upcoming events.
Tags Autocomplete text.  Limits automatically included events to those with provided tag.

How to add a Calendar or Event list

  1. Select Calendar or Event list from the Component type drop down list and click the Add new Component or Add another Component button.

  2. If you are adding an Event list, select the maximum Number of rows of events that will be allowed to be displayed.

  3. Click on Add items to manually select any upcoming published event(s) to be displayed, and/or Check the Include feed checkbox to automatically include the upcoming events published in the same section as the flexible page containing this Calendar or Event list.

  4. Optionally specify Tags to limit the events automatically included by the Include feed checkbox, to those also tagged with the specified tag.

Things worth mentioning

  • Published events from any CMS section can be manually added to the Calendar or Event list, but those automatically included when Include feed is Checked are limited to events within the same section as the flexible page.

  • The Tags field only filters the automatic feed.  It does not add events with the specified tag from other sections, nor does it exclude events that were manually added that are not tagged.

  • The differences between Calendar and Event list components:

    • The Event list is not allowed directly in Region 2 and Region 3.

    • The Number of rows field is available for Event list, but not for Calendar.

    • The Calendar displays a grouping header date for all of the events occurring on the same day.  The Event list does not.
    • The Calendar displays the event's Thumbnail image, but the Event list does not.

    • The Calendar displays the day of the week alongside the date of the event, whereas the Event list does not.

    • The Calendar displays both the start and end time (if provided) of the event.  The Event list only shows the start time.
