General summary

Manages alumni initiatives and programs on behalf of University Advancement.

Major duties

  • Manages Alumni Relations initiatives and projects that link alumni with potential and current students.
  • Creates and implement initiatives, including communication, events, and special projects to engage alumni of all ages in the life of the University.
  • Supports targeted projects and events with the Alumni Association and campus partners.
  • Coordinates with relevant departments for annual student and resident graduate data uploads to the alumni database, ensuring accuracy.
  • Acquires knowledge of modern technology and policy revisions.
  • Plans and executes multiple projects, programs, and activities as assigned.
  • Establishes initiatives focused on diverse alumni and programs, enhancing communication and visibility among all alumni.
  • Collaborates with other staff members within University Advancement and University partners to achieve the goals of the position.
  • Tracks alumni relations activities in the database and responds to alumni communication in a timely manner.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work well as a contributing team member within a complex organization requiring collaboration, teamwork, and communication.
  • Experience using relational databases and software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability in persuasive communication, both written and oral.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel, both in-state and out-of-state.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
