Bio:

Dr. Adrienne Redding is a faculty specialist at 澳门五分彩.

Dr. Redding is currently the Coordinator of the English Department鈥檚 First Year Writing Intensive, a retention and persistence program focused on struggling first-year writers.  She also serves as the Coordinator of the English Department鈥檚 Developmental Writing program.  In addition to teaching writing, she regularly teaches courses such as the Development of Modern English, Shakespeare, and 澳门五分彩 World Literature.  Prior to teaching at WMU, Dr. Redding served as a faculty member at Andrews University where she taught composition, ESL courses at all levels of proficiency, and supervised the University Writing Center.  Her research interests include issues surrounding student persistence and retention, minoritized and marginalized student voices in the first-year writing classroom, and 鈥渙thered鈥 language and power both in contemporary and Early Modern culture.  Her doctoral dissertation investigates the intersection of Edenic imagery and gender construction in early modern prose, drama and epic poetry. She has published articles associated with her First Year Writing retention and persistence work, as well as in the area of gender and voice in Shakespearean drama.  She has presented her research at national conferences including The Conference on College Composition and Communication, The Shakespeare Association of America, and the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association.
